Minecraft. The computer game that’s abducted millions to it’s core has now gone one step ahead. Mobile Minecraft, or Minecraft Pocket Addition, has now hit shelves on the ever-expanding Android Market. Why so big news? This takes Minecraft to a whole new device. Android, especially. The controls seem to be pretty well-built, too. The app was launched this morning, and has taken way by many, few who’ve commented and rated this device ★★★★★. You can check out this app and download it on the Android Market. Get it today!

Twitter opens Photo API. Developers, power up your computers.

Posted on: August 16th, 2011 by Vince 1 Comment

Twitter, the SMS giant, just recently launched it’s photo service. How did this change it’s service? Well, having the ability to send photos and videos brought a huge wave of feature and openness to Twitter. As a result, this new feature seems to be a hit, as thousands of people are now using it.  There’s no downside to this, as Twitter grew, it needed this to now secede it’s past, and take Twitter one step further.  Now, the dev team has released an API. Now, what does this mean for developers? What it means is that developers not only have the delicious, favored-over-Facebook API, API in there hands, but can let there users now upload photos. This will change the way we develop. It’s making Twitter a more open-source, top-game development platform, from socialists, to people with a simple, cheap phone in another country, this platform now allows it’s app developers to take it up a notch. Use a new feature that came out just weeks, not maybe a month ago. Why is this such a big deal, though? I don’t see Facebook handing out it’s new features to it’s 3rd party developers currently at work. So, if you want an API with a pack ton of features, including this new photo feature, go with Twitter’s.

Just In: Google acquires Motorola for $12.5 billion!

Posted on: August 15th, 2011 by Vince 1 Comment

THANKS, LOGOEPS, FOR THE IMAGE ABOVE.

You all know that Motorola, the “Android Giant”, is an extremely extended device platform running mostly Android, right? Well, what exactly can Google, no, do with that? Well, it’s super, power-packed Android platform can be more integrated in the device. Also, more features can be integrated into the phone that could not before. And is this a great acquisition? I personally believe so, but if Google pushes this too far, I would believe the acquisition shouldn’t have happened.  Now, what does this mean? A Google-branded Motorola phone? Maybe. We’ll just have to see what happens later when Motorola ships out its new smartphones.

Week In Review: Apple growing large, but more competitors and a long road ahead?

Posted on: August 12th, 2011 by Vince 1 Comment

IPHONE 4 PHOTO THANKS TO ENGADGET

Apple. A slow start lead it to such a success. But what really held it’s success was heading to the touchscreen market before others did. There success became so huge, that it is currently the largest app store running. This was huge news, but not huge from this week’s news. Apple is now the world’s largest company, denouncing it the king? Well, it may very well be suited at the throne, but is it the king of sellers? With only one phone on the market, currently, and a line out the door to await a new phone every year, makes it seem an awfully large crowd of customers. Android, on the other hand, has a huge marketplace, but doesn’t hold the crown of the king. But what we do know, is they activate a lot more Android devices, than Apple. They, on average, activate about 60,000 Android devices per day. That’s insane. And The Android App Market has caught up to almost Apple’s length. More people go with Android. You don’t go around seeing a different Android phone every few weeks. No Apple device can run on a 4G LTE network. But Android can. So, why choose Apple, when you can choose Android? Well, Windows Phone has also boosted ahead with a largely growing App marketplace, larger than when Apple started. At the rate they’re going at, they may pass Apple in the long run. But Apple’s devices may have new surprises like the Ipad, but Android also brought us into the tablet game this year.  It’s HD screen, and gaming performance also beat up. Windows 8 will hope to challenge that next year. Vote below and comment on what you think is your platform of choice.
